The whole vineyard is A-rated and is planted with the noble grape verities of the Douro region. The Geographical diversity of the vineyard plots is rich, with an altitude ranging from 100 m and 500 m, excellent exposure to sunlight in all directions, and schist soils permeated with clay fragments.<\/p>\n<p>These particular features make the wines so unique.<\/p>\n<p>The oldest vineyards in Quinta do Silval are about 85 years old and the youngest about 25. The main grape varieties are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
